“Blessings” follows the November offering “Robert C” starring another rapper T unknown. The new single is fueled by a stripped down beat that the couple effortlessly ride, this time assisted by the alluring sounds of the Jamaican singer and songwriter, Chronixx. Young T & Bugsey’s iconic, genre-infused performance paired with Chronixx’s captivating vocals come together to create a track that perfectly celebrates the duo’s African and Caribbean heritage. The new single arrives with a poignant lyrical video that sees touching memories of the childhood and loved ones of Young T & Bugsey.
It comes a few weeks before the release of Young T & Bugsey’s brand new mixtape. “The truth must be told”, scheduled for an outing on Friday, January 21, 2022 Going through Black butter discs. New project follows colossal beginnings Plead the 5, which boasts of + 1 billion global flows and home to some of the couple’s biggest singles to date. With the 2021 offer Big auction and Prada Bae, the band comprises 15 songs which all display the couple’s commitment to their boundless sound. It is this musical dexterity that has earned them a seal of approval across the UK and beyond, this time teaming up with some of the most exciting names in the UK and abroad. The duo thrive on songs that explore the complexity of relationships, reflect how far we’ve come, while also meeting the need for a classic Young T & Bugsey hit.
“After the success of our first project, Plead The 5th, with notable hits like Strike a Pose and the worldwide hit Don’t Rush, we knew we had to take our time with our follow-up mixtape. “Truth Be Told” continues Young T & Bugsey’s illustrious head-shaking, dance-floor inciting streak, with an extra twist this time around and a refreshing sense of musical and personal growth! We are delighted that the fans are embarking on this journey with us. said young T & Bugsey.
Being based outside of London, Young T & Bugsey – who met when they were 15 while working at KFC – immediately honed their chemistry. Having followed a less-traveled path to success, the duo are rarely in the limelight – having been advised by BBC Radio 1Xtra, co-signed by Stormzy, and becoming the spearhead of the emerging Nottingham rap scene. The duo’s single “Ay Caramba” became their first single in the top 40, and so they became their city’s first act to achieve a Single Platinum Certified.
Last year saw the release of the first mixtape Plead the 5 , an impressive first corpus with successful singles “Strike a pose” with the Manchester rapper Aitch, and the Headie One sustained smash “Do not rush.” “Don’t Rush” quickly became a worldwide hit and a staple soundtrack through 2020, making one of the most exciting viral moments seen from a British act. Young T & Bugsey went on to receive three Brit Award nominations, plus an outstanding performance at this year’s ceremony alongside Headie One. They reached even higher heights when they were nominated for two BET Awards and became the first British rap duo to hit Billboard Hot 100 List. With the duo taking their craft to new heights, it’s clear that their new body of work will be another defining moment for their careers.
