Winchester Cathedral hosts outdoor theater production Cinderella by Chapterhouse Theater Company

WINCHESTER Cathedral is awaiting another sold-out performance of its fourth outdoor theater production.

The Chapterhouse Theater Company’s Cinderella will be the fourth production since the cathedral relaunched outdoor theater in 2021.

The performance, by the traveling theater company, will take place in the Lower Dean’s Garden of the Cathedral on Sunday August 21 at 7 p.m.

The last outdoor production in July, Pride & Prejudice, has been sold out and Winchester Cathedral expects the same to happen again.

Christina Suddons, communications manager for Winchester Cathedral, said: “The reception has been really positive, visitors love being able to see an outdoor theatrical production in a part of the historic cathedral grounds which is not normally open to the public.

“Events at the cathedral provide opportunities for participation, skills development, volunteerism and social, cultural, economic and environmental development. Community events here keep the cathedral in touch with our local visitors and welcome tourists regionally, nationally and internationally.

A maximum of 250 tickets are available to reserve online and purchase in the evening (subject to availability) and doors will open at 6:15 p.m.

Chapterhouse Theater Company has been performing for over 20 years in historic venues and theaters across the UK, Europe and China.

The Cinderella show lasts approximately two hours and will run regardless of the weather.

Winchester Cathedral encourages attendees to dress in their finest prince and princess attire.
