In 2018, The British Inventors Society & The British Invention Show, (BIS Exhibition, a global exhibition based at the Barbican in London, supported by ‘BBC’, ‘The One Show’, ‘Sky News’, ‘iTV’, ‘B&Q’ , ‘Savoy’ and others), awarded finalists, Nahid & Sarah – British Inventor of the Year, International Innovator of the Year and Design Awards. They exhibited patented and registered beauty products all over the world. They received critical acclaim from exhibition viewers and the jury (along with chairmen from ‘P&G’, ‘IPO’ & and ‘Boots UK’).
In an interview, Nahid (Princess NSO) talked about the love for creating a beauty brand which made a difference from other brands because Nahid & Sarah focused more on the patent side, which which required years of research.
Princess NSO spoke about her songwriting and her musical influences, including Beyonce, Mary J Blige, Mariah Carey, The Old School Divas, Becky G and Travis Scott. She also talked about how she likes to use afrobeat, Indian, Arabic, reggaeton, trap rhythms – basically, from cultures around the world.
In an interview, $arah SAS spoke and explained that when she was four years old, she would record voice memos of herself singing pop songs, like on her family’s MacBook in her bedroom. She began learning piano at age three and guitar in her early teens. She enjoyed participating in the choir and frequently playing instruments in assemblies. $arah SAS began uploading vocal, piano and dance covers to YouTube and social media in 2011, reaching over 2 million views. She started writing songs when she was 14 and posted her first demo on Instagram when she was 13. She also started performing in clubs and bars and concert halls, playing the piano and singing, at the age of 13 in London.
$arah SAS’s music is primarily rooted in mainstream pop, R&B, reggaeton and hip-hop. At one point, she recalls being “captivated” by Latin music like reggaeton, only listening to songs in Spanish and singing in Spanish. She learned Spanish in 2020. Ever since she was a child, she has been “in love with the piano”, inspired by the talents of John Legend and Alicia Keys. The first songs she sang and played on the piano were All of Me and Halo, played by ear. She also talked about loving rapping as she used to rap viral songs in school. She was also inspired by Shawn Mendes to play acoustic guitar, and she remembers Rihanna’s “Kiss it Better” inspiring her to play electric guitar. $arah SAS influences include Rihanna, Camila Cabello, Beyonce, Prince, Drake, Nicki Minaj, The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, Kanye West, Rosalía and Destiny’s Child.
