Enjoy Hollywood razzmatazz this spring with the hit cabaret show Magic at the Movies from the Bishop’s Stortford Musical Theater Company (BSMTC).
Much-loved tunes from movies, including West Side Story, The sound of music, Mary Poppins, Back to the future, Mom Mia and A star is born will be performed by a talented cast at the Manuden Village Community Center on Friday and Saturday, May 6 and 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Formulated and led by company president Charlotte Pritchard and social secretary Cat Quigley, the show will also feature surprises and lesser-known gems.
The theater duo wrote and directed two previous BSMTC shows, Class Act and The Bomber Belles, both of which were sold-out hits.
“We chose a ‘Magic at the Movies’ theme for this show because there are so many iconic movies over the decades that have fabulous music,” the couple said.
“The actors had a great time rehearsing and are really looking forward to seeing the audience’s reaction to their hard work.”
The Saturday show is sold out, but tickets – priced at £15 (excluding booking fees) and including a fish, chicken or vegetarian supper – are available for the Friday show. See www.ticketsource.co.uk/bsmtc.
Audiences are encouraged to dress Hollywood-style as if they were attending the Oscars or as their favorite movie star or character. There will be prizes for the best dressed.
