Musical producer

Super producer MK returns this summer with brand new single “Better”

‘Better’ sees MK collaborate with LA-based British producer BURNS and American singer/songwriter Teddy Swims

Together they crafted an emotionally charged call to arms on the piano, on which Teddy tells us “the storm has passed…the past behind us…let it go…it will get better”.

One of house music’s earliest superstars, Detroit-born MK (real name Marc Kinchen) is a record producer, DJ and remixer with over 600 million streams in his estimated career. His early hits “Burning”, “Always”, “4You” and classic remixes such as Nightcrawlers’ “Push The Feeling On” defined the deeper undertone of US House…a sound that has continued to influence the producers of the whole world. Brought back into the world of dance music after working behind the scenes with Quincy Jones and Will Smith, and producing for SWV and 702, he soon resumed his prolific record production.

The power of his productions has not diminished, in 2014 his cover of Storm Queen’s “Look Right Through” reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart. It was quickly followed by “Pieces Of Me”, “17” and “Back & Forth”, singles which all went platinum. Most recently, he made a career-affirming appearance in the new Jaguar F-PACE advert (also overseeing the creation of the music component of the campaign), before releasing the single “Chemical”, in summer 2021, followed by his huge redesign of Celeste. “Stop this flame”. More recently, he collaborated with Paul Woolford and Majid Jordan on “Teardrops”.

BURNS has been an in-demand producer and songwriter for several years now. Her solo single ‘Talamanca’ reached A-list on BBC Radio 1 in 2021, was crowned ‘The Ibiza anthem that never happened’ by the station, and remains a summertime anthem and staple. DJ sets in Ibiza and beyond, well into 2022. In addition to his own works, he has produced and written hits for a variety of global artists including Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Headie One, A$AP Rocky , Jaden Smith, Blackpink, PARTYNEXTDOOR and Britney Spears.

Teddy Swims has garnered millions of people who tuned in with its funk-tinged originals and unexpected covers. In 2019, from his basement studio, Teddy shared a video of himself singing Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You” to YouTube and within days things got wild. More covers followed, gaining more and more fans in the process. After signing with Warner Records in early 2020, he released his first original song, the dashing and funky “Picky.”

Then come his hits “Broke” and “Bed on Fire”. In 2022, Teddy released his 2nd EP “Tough Love” featuring the songs “Simple Things” and “911” followed by his sold-out 53-date Tough Love World Tour.

2022 has seen MK entertain fans with their DJ sets around the world. After performing at Movement in his hometown of Detroit, he continued his summer residency alongside Calvin Harris in Ushuaia, Ibiza, and has bookings at coveted festivals such as Lollapalooza in Chicago and Creamfields in the UK at come.
