Squash star James stars with Skipton Musical Theater Company

Audiences attending Skipton Musical Theater’s production of Made in Dagenham the Musical shouldn’t be surprised to see a familiar face in the cast.

Eddie O’Grady stars James Willstrop, former world squash champion and recent Commonwealth Games gold medalist in Birmingham.

After finishing fourth in the men’s singles in Birmingham, James and partner Declan James won men’s doubles gold in the final against fellow England players Daryl Selby and Adrian Walker.

For many years James combined his international success in squash with amateur theatre, appearing with companies in Ilkley, Bingley, Harrogate and Adel. James also won “Best Actor” at the Wharfedale Festival of Theater in 2017.

Inspired by a true story and based on the hit film, Made in Dagenham is the uplifting British musical about friendship, love and the importance of standing up for what’s right.

Funny, touching and timeless with great songs, Made in Dagenham shows how ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they stick together.

The show will run at the Mart Theatre, Skipton, from October 27-29. Performances in the evening at 7 p.m. and a matinee on Saturday at 2:15 p.m.

Tickets are £18, £14 concession at the Mart Theatre. website:
