Russell Brand spotted in Cornwall at the Church Fair

Russell Brand was spotted in Cornwall at a church fair today (April 23) and was captured taking a selfie with locals. The comedian visited St Bartholomew’s Church, Lostwithiel for a local fair and Anna Maria Ingleby-Oddy, who is pictured with the comedian, said she was delighted to see him.

Anna shared the photo of herself on social media and volunteers stood with a smiling Russell at the community fair and were happy to see him supporting a church heavily involved in the local community. Others commented saying they were bummed they didn’t get the chance to meet him, those who did say he was “lovely”.

Anna even described Russell as a ‘good soul’ after meeting him today at the fair and he was so ‘nice’ and had a great chat with the Reverend of St Bart’s Church. Although Russell is known for his controversial style of humor and his appearances in hit films such as Get Him to the Greek and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, today he is known for his kindness.

On Facebook, Anna shared: “Wow Russel Brand at St Barts Church Fair come down here lots of treats on offer.” One person who saw Anna’s post tagged a friend who replied in all caps that she was in Plymouth today – so unable to see it – and joked ‘tell her to wait for me!’

Another person said they met the celebrity last week and that St. Barts Church is the “superstars’ haven”. Locals were happy to see Russell visit Cornwall and especially to get stuck with the community of Lostwithiel.

Anna told CornwallLive: “We are delighted to see him supporting the church as the church does so much for the community. Reverend Sheila opens the church every night for food sharing where we all volunteer.”

Glad to see Russell Anna’s photo gain over 100 likes on Facebook and people commented:

“Omg he’s adorable!!! We met him in Fowey!”

“Me last week, Russell that. St Barths superstar heaven!”

Anna responded to a comment saying they were “disgusted” to have missed Russell at the fair saying “he’s lovely and sweet”.

Another wrote that they just liked that he was at the fair today. Did you see Russell Brand today at the church fair? Let us know in the comments.
