Burbank, Calif., May 5, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Nickelodeon’s beloved ’90s mascot Nick Jr. returns to the network in Face music festivala brand new musical variety show premiering Monday, June 6to 11 a.m. (ET/PT). The interactive series that combines animation and live action (13 episodes) will feature a reimagined face (voiced by Cedric Williams, Hunter X Hunter, The promised never-never land) as host and VJ, playing modern pop hits and revisited preschool classics to create the ultimate musical party. Face music festival will debut as part of the “Music Mondays” themed preschool programming block and air regularly on Mondays at 11 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

In the first episode, “Robots/Imagination,” Face features popular robot-themed music videos along with the coolest songs about imagination. Each episode of Face music festival will center on themes that inform the song’s playlist and consists of four segments: a kid-friendly music video from popular contemporary artists; remixed vocals of iconic nursery rhymes; exploration time in Face’s music box, where children can play and discover an instrument, sound or musical concept; and a high-energy dance finale, with child dancers demonstrating moves to viewers at home.

Start Monday, June 6and airing Mondays throughout the summer, fans can tune into the Nick Jr. Preschool block on Nickelodeon for “Music Mondays,” a five-hour block of programming (7am-12pm ET/PT) featuring music-themed episodes of PAW Patrol, Blaze and the Monster Machines, Bubble Guppies, Peppa Pig, baby sharkthe Big Show! and more, leading up to a first episode of Face music festival to 11 a.m. “Music Mondays” will continue to air on the Nick Jr. Channel from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. (ET)/PT).

Face debuted on Nick Jr. on September 5, 1994 and was the animated host and mascot of Nickelodeon’s preschool programming block for over a decade. A good friend to all preschoolers, Face greeted Nick Jr. viewers daily in interstitials, musical shorts, show intros, and bumpers. With endless color changes, funny voices and silly expressions, Face can also appear in almost any location, use props to dress up and play with other on-screen characters. Face’s playful vocals and sound effects, such as the three-note “brr brr brrr” trumpet imitation, were a Nickelodeon mainstay until September 10, 2004.
