WPSD Local 6 located in Paducah, KY is the dominant NBC affiliate for the Paducah/Cape Girardeau/Harrisburg DMA.

We are looking for a multimedia journalist, producer and photojournalist to join our news team.

We cover 4 states and are conveniently located midway between St. Louis, Missouri in the northwest and Nashville, Tennessee in the southeast.

Visitors to Paducah come for the history, arts and events, but stay for the deep-rooted culture and southern charm. Located on an influential shore in western Kentucky, Paducah is home to 25,000 residents and its McCracken County has a total of 65,000 residents who enjoy an affordable cost of living, a fraction of the national average. Paducah is conveniently located between St. Louis and Nashville. Paducah’s artistic and historical culture is woven into its community. There really is something for everyone: art lovers, passionate foodies and outdoor explorers. Downtown Paducah is home to historic architecture and landmarks and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

WPSD LOCAL6, NBC’s affiliate in the 84th market, is looking for an excellent MMJ. You must have exceptional experience in news reporting and live work.

Our journalists work hard and frequently land on much larger markets after honing their skills with our award-winning staff.

You are an idea person, autonomous and ready to work in a dynamic and competitive environment, producing content for several platforms.

You can film, go live, write, edit, develop sources, learn social media best practices, and be a team player. You are a compelling storyteller and the best writer among your peers.

Degree in journalism or related field and one year of experience preferred. Talented entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.

WPSD LOCAL 6, the former dominant NBC affiliate in Paducah, Kentucky (84th DMA), requires a dynamic writer with sound news judgment who can become a leader in our newsroom. You must have a flair for production values, feature meaningful breaking news, live elements, social/interactive media platforms and dynamic graphics to tell compelling news. You also love helping journalists do amazing work. If you’re on your way to news management, this is where it all starts. First experience as a producer appreciated. We will train entry-level candidates. The right candidate can switch to a main newscast from Monday to Friday.

WPSD LOCAL 6, NBC’s dominant affiliate in the 84th DMA, has an opening for a full-time news photojournalist. You must have an exceptional track record in creative news, reporting, daily turns, feature films and live work. You have a great eye and everything you create creates an emotional connection.

You are an idea person, autonomous and ready to work in a dynamic and competitive environment, producing content for several platforms. You will work in a powerful and well-equipped First Amendment news operation.

We will train entry-level candidates. Degree and experience desired.
