Chief of Staff Mike Puelle will leave municipal government after two and a half years of service. Mayor Keller and the entire management team share their gratitude and wish Mr. Puelle much success in his next chapter. Mr. Puelle will begin work as director of government affairs at the University of New Mexico before the 2023 legislative session.
“UNM will be in good hands, and our entire City team is grateful for his leadership during exceptionally difficult times. We are confident that his leadership experience at the City and his prior work at the state and federal levels make him an ideal candidate. for his new role where he will continue to drive the success of Duke City forward,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “Mike couldn’t have joined our team at a more important time; he started his job a day early, to help us navigate the looming COVID situation in 2020. Mike has been a steady hand through some of our city’s greatest modern challenges – a key member of our team at direction as we navigated the pandemic, economic recovery and negotiations with the Department of Justice.
“It has been an honor to serve the City of Albuquerque and support Mayor Keller and the entire leadership team over these past few years. They are leaders who have met national challenges with courage and creativity, time and time again delivering results for Albuquerque,” says Mike Puelle. “I want to thank Mayor Keller and every member of the administration for the opportunity to work together on the issues that matter and for their unwavering dedication to our home.”
