Set 36 years after its iconic predecessor, the film finds test pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell back in the Top Gun program to train a younger generation of fighter pilots, including Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, the son of his late RIO (Radar Intercept Officer) and her best friend, Goose. Now, on the heels of Maverick’s huge box office success, audiences are beginning to wonder about the prospect of Top Gun 3.

In a new interview with DeadlineBruckheimer raised the possibility of a third Superior gun film. The producer says there are no immediate plans for a sequel to maverick, although he seemed open to the idea and didn’t rule anything out. For now, Bruckheimer simply says: “Let’s ride this wave“, referencing Maverick’s strong opening weekend.


Even before its theatrical release, critics of Top Gun: Maverick praised the film’s intense aerial sequences, all of which were practically shot, in addition to its surprisingly heartfelt story. Thus, a third Superior gun The movie seemed like a strong possibility before, and now it seems almost inevitable given its commercial success as well.
