Lightopia returns to Heaton Park with a brand new immersive festival this Christmas

Lighting up Manchester this winter, Lightopia returns for its fourth year, once again bringing the magic of Christmas to the Heaton Park grounds. In November, the festival returns with a new immersive experience that will take over the park until January.

This year’s trail follows the story of new beginnings and the circle of life. Through original audiovisual presentations, the festival offers a unique adventure for the whole family.

New for 2022, festival organizers have announced a new ticketing system to help families with rising costs of living. The new accessible pricing will see an off-peak option on certain days of the week. And for a limited time, receive an exclusive 20% discount on tickets when you register here.

Beginner at Gate of the Guardianguests will be transported to a wonderland decorated by a blanket of shooting stars with the essence of light display. Follow the mystical path to the kingdom of Christmas, celebrating the holiday season with the gift of giant baubles, trees and presents.

Discover the meaning of hope and balance as you stroll past the ying-yang display and Arc of Tranquilityhome to colorful swans and butterflies.

Leaving the winding path of mythical forest, prepare your senses for the main event of the festival, the Phénix. Like never before, experience the heart of the festival through sound and light, with a 5-minute A/V show pushing the boundaries of music through a captivating display.

The secret flower garden illuminates the park’s natural greenery, with a collection of glowing wildlife wrapped around branches above and grass below.

Organized especially for young guests, the rebirth book unleash the imagination with friendly animated animals and the kids zone will feature interactive musical tiles for all to interact and play with.

The adventure ends with the grand finale Lakeside Water Show; a spectacle of moving creatures and patterns projected onto the lake and fountain.
