Korean Startup Hanteo Global Gains Ground as “K-Pop Big Data Company”

Korean startup Hanteo Global combines K-pop and data technology to serve millions of K-pop fans. The company has an unparalleled amount of K-pop data among companies that collect and hold big music data around the world. The startup uses artificial intelligence for big data in music. The company’s main services include the real-time music chart “Hanteo Chart” “Hanteo Chart” and a mobile application “Whosfan”. The startup also operates Hanteo News and Whosfan Cafe.

Hanteo Chart is a real-time music chart that collects and processes album sales data in real time. Its technology collects and analyzes data from social media, portals and broadcasts, helping K-Pop artists to accelerate their businesses. The startup applies the HATS (Hanteo Aided Tracking System) model, creating global album charts by directly authenticating K-pop fans.

Whosfan by Hanteo is a mobile application that enables global voting events based on blockchain and distributed high-volume traffic processing technology. It has become a go-to app among K-pop fans, attracting 6.4 million international subscribers within a year of its official launch.

Selected as ‘Baby Unicorn’ in Korea

Hanteo Global showcased Hanteo Chart and Whosfan at CES 2022 (Consumer Electronics Show), the world’s largest computer and home appliance trade show, held in Las Vegas. Hanteo was recently selected as a “Baby Unicorn Enterprise” by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Institute of Startup Development and Entrepreneurship (KISED), demonstrating its promising potential.

Hanteo Global’s technological prowess has been recognized in Korea by receiving the Ministry of Science and ICT Award for DATA-Global’s 2021 Overseas Expansion. They also received the Minister of Science and ICT award for the 2021 SW High Growth Club 200, which rewards high-growth companies for recognizing their future growth potential.

A Hanteo Global official said, “We had an obligation to show K-pop’s status and excellent business model at international trade shows. This year, we will make further strides by introducing new services, including a vertical commerce business specializing in K-pop.
