KGF Producer Teams Up With Soorarai Pottru Director Sudha Kongara For Film Based On True Events

Director Sudha Kongarawho rose to fame with films such as Irudhi Suttru and Soorarai Pottrupartnered with the creators of KGF franchise for an as yet untitled project, which will be based on true events.

Interestingly, Sudha’s next project is with Surya, and it will be produced by 2D Entertainment. There are already rumors circulating that Sudha could team up with Ajith Kumar very soon.

Some reports claim that Sudha’s project with Ajith will likely be funded by Hombale Films. However, the makers have yet to make an official announcement.

Meanwhile, Sudha will soon resume work on the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottruwhich will feature Akshay Kumar in the lead.

The project will be funded by Abundantia Entertainment along with 2D Entertainment. The rest of the crew will be officially announced soon.

Soorarai Pottru, a film based on the life of Captain GR Gopinath – founder of low-cost airline Air Deccan, was originally slated for theatrical release. However, the film ultimately opted for a direct OTT release due to the pandemic.

The project, which marked Suriya’s first collaboration with a female director, also stars Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal and veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu in pivotal roles.

Produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, the film marked the southern debut of renowned Bollywood producer Guneet Monga, who co-produced the project. The film, which marked Suriya and Sudha’s first collaboration, had music by GV Prakash Kumar.
