Amazon has signed a first contract with influencer Josh Richards.
Josh Richards, who first rose to fame on TikTok for his comedy and lip-sync videos, is set to bring his talents to Amazon.
As Amazon begins to branch out from being just a commerce website, it is bringing new properties to its streaming and gaming branches. From NFL shows to original movies to the upcoming Lord of the Rings TV show, Amazon does a great job of adding content.
Now it looks like Amazon has struck a deal with one of TikTok’s biggest stars.
According to a new report from Variety, Amazon has signed Richards to a first-look deal. This arrangement will allow Richards to create and produce video content exclusively for Amazon.
The deal will also see Richards serve as an Amazon brand ambassador, for which he will develop custom social media content for Amazon projects “including the NFL’s ‘Thursday Night Football'”, which Amazon recently purchased. rights.
CrossCheck Studios, the production company that Richards founded and of which he is currently CEO, will also work with Amazon as part of the deal.
Richards has expanded beyond TikTok content in recent years, dabbling in film. He starred in the short film Brother’s Keeper, as well as the musical Summertime Dropouts.
Along with acting, Richards has also dabbled in singing. His song “Still Softish”, which featured fellow TikTok star Bryce Hall, has over 100 million streams.
In announcing the deal, Richards said he and Amazon “will continue to push the boundaries around the creator economy and content creation.”
This deal with Amazon will not only help the streaming service expand its reach to a younger, more social media-savvy demographic, it will also give Richards a chance to expand further into new media. The financial terms of the agreement are not yet known.
