JAMMU, September 20: Students and staff of the Institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMFA) today staged a protest against the Power Development Department (PDD) in preparation for establishing a power receiving station at the IMFA premises at Poonch House in Talab Tillo.

The protesting students and IMFA staff demanded that the PDD authorities cancel the plan to establish the electricity receiving station at the IMFA premises.
They said that the institute is one of J&K’s sensitive institutes with archaeological values ​​and expressed concern against the PDD.
IMFA students and staff also wrote a letter in this regard to the Director of Achievements, Archeology and Museums and asked if PDD had obtained clearance from the Department of Achievements, Archeology and Museums. museums to establish such a receiving station near the IMFA.
They said if all this is happening without permission, then tough action should be taken against the offenders.
