What was it like walking into the store for the first time? Have you incorporated any social media-friendly design touches?

CHARLI D’AMELIO I don’t think anyone knew what it was going to look like, but since we were talking about what would actually be in the store, [we wanted it to be] functional and super fun but trendy. That’s crazy. It turned out perfect.

DIXIE D’AMELIO There are absolutely a lot of [social media-friendly] design touches. In the fitting room, the lights change with what you’re wearing, the [Social Tourist] the sticker in the mirror is upside down when you take a photo.

Everything is very conducive to vacation. Do any of you have vacation this summer? Which Social Tourist pieces will you be wearing?

BOWL My summer is booked, but I plan to wear some for the tour, which will be really fun. Maybe we can go on vacation…

CHARLY I don’t have a vacation planned!

With each of you working on projects over the past year, we guess you both must know each other’s secrets. Charli, did you give Dixie a preview of Born Dreamer?

BOWL I’ve been using it for a year, everyone tells me it smells so good and I wasn’t allowed to say anything.

CHARLY I was at one [coffee shop] and the woman taking my order said, “Oh my God, what perfume are you wearing?” I was like, “Actually, I can’t tell you, but I’ll write the date and where you can get it and the name, but you can’t tell anyone. It’s having to keep those secrets is the hardest thing in the world because when someone asks, I feel so bad to say, “I can’t tell you.”

I never had a signature perfume that I wore every day and it was super interesting because today with me, perfume is what I do before leaving or before seeing someone , and it makes me feel so good together. Not having this I knew something was missing but I [didn’t want to] go try a whole bunch. I had no idea how scents affected everyone based on their body chemistry…I think there’s something so fun about Born Dreamer in that it really works for everyone. All my friends I’ve given it to and I talk about it all the time, and I got to have these conversations – “How are you doing?” All of my friends are very different, so it’s nice to hear positive feedback from everyone.

And Dixie, did Charli get to hear the album first?

BOWL Charli had no right to hear it.

CHARLY Me, Dixie and [her boyfriend] Noah [Beck] had a listening party and she played three seconds of each song. It’s the most annoying thing in the world because I was like, “Okay, can I hear it?” And she’s like, “Yeah!” And then it closes [the song] stopped. I hear the first four beats. I love the album and obviously saw how hard she worked on it for so long so it’s really nice to see it come together and be able to listen to it on Spotify instead of having to search my phone.

Now that summer has officially started in LA, what are your favorite skincare hacks for the warmer months?

BOWL Just face oil, it’s my go-to every day and every night. Whichever comes closest, literally any type of face oil and I apply it, it feels the most refreshing to me. I’m very lucky not to have super oily skin, but I do have super dry skin. So I literally put it on my hairline too; it’s my go-to for everything.

CHARLY Skincare is something I focus on a lot. I’ve had skin issues for a while, so I’m getting back in shape, and rebuilding my skin barrier is something I do a lot, like morning, afternoon, night, very depending a schedule.

Are you planning to launch a beauty brand?

CHARLY I think anything is possible but it’s not in the cards right now. I really want to understand [it] out.

BOWL I think I would make makeup remover wipes.

CHARLY I think she should do lazy girl makeup.

BOWL Lazy makeup would be the best thing ever. Literally take it all off and tattoo it for the day. Now I just had an idea!
