Hard-hitting electro producer Willaris K returns with “Slow Down”

Local hero Willaris K has shared a new track called “Slow Down” in what he says will be a new era with many more on the way.

Stoney chose him as our “Next In Line” in 2017 with his debut track “Alchemy” and since then he has steadily grown a passionate fanbase with his electrifying products and high-energy live sets.

There’s been a noticeable hiatus in recent years but, like most artists, including Golden Features, he’s taken some time off from the often high-pressure world of music and seems to have recalibrated.

New track ‘Slow Down’ is a welcome return to his explosive electronic style but leaning towards the more recent wave of UK halves/breaks. It features a choppy, layered Seekae-esque vocal from Nomono’s Tom Snowdon over a serious beat.

Willaris explains the process behind the track;

“Slow Down was a bit of an escape for me. It was the song I was most drawn to working on when things felt heavy, because it existed in a place outside of the live performance – where my music usually existed.

I remember we were working on music not really going anywhere we went to the pub for a beer then we came home and started playing with a weird beat with a weird voice that became the start of Slow Down. It existed as a one-minute loop for a while, but every time I came back to it, it grabbed me. Tom recorded a bunch of vocals and it sat on my laptop for a while when it stopped before the last section and I always saw it as kind of an interlude, but whenever I came back, he caught me.

Are we happy with the return? Fuck yeah! Are we glad there’s more on the way? Damn yes!
