Gwenno posts trippy video for brand new single An Stevel Nowydh

Cornish language art rocker Gwenno has released a video for her brand new single A Stevel Nowydh, which you can watch in full below. It is taken from his forthcoming third album treasurewhich will be released via Heavenly Recordings on July 1st.

At the same time, Gwenno announced a short series of live dates and festival appearances which you can watch below.

A Stevel Nowydh (The new room) is a song about finding yourself in an entirely new place and realizing that you are completely lost, and recognizing that the only thing to do in an existential crisis is to put on your favorite hat and dance

treasure (treasure) is Gwenno’s second album sung almost entirely in Cornish (Kernewek). Written in St. Ives, Cornwall, just before the 2020 lockdowns and completed at his home in Cardiff during the pandemic with his co-producer and musical collaborator, Rhys Edwards, treasure reveals an introspective focus on home and self, a prescient work echoing the isolation and retirement that has been a central and global shared experience over the past two years.

treasure the film, which was shot in Wales, Gwenno’s home country, is inspired by surrealist filmmakers such as Sergei Parajanov, Agnes Varda and Alejandro Jodorowsky, and reflects Gwenno’s growing interest in film and the intersection of music with visual components.
