Endemol Shine Finland hires Paria Eskandari, executive producer of “The Woodcutter Story”
EXCLUSIVE: Endemol Shine Finland, the Banijay-owner producer behind upcoming Netflix and Yle drama dancing brothers, has hired film producer Paria Eskandari to bolster its script arm. From August, she will become a producer within the company, reporting to head of scripts Max Malka. Eskandari joins Aamu Film Company, where she was executive producer on the Critics’ Week title at Cannes The story of the woodcutter. She has the same role on the winner of the Cannes Grand Prix Compartment no. 6 and laureate Any day. She has also worked on young adult drama series. Zone-B for Finnish public broadcaster Yle, and several documentaries and short films. “Outcast is well known as a dedicated filmmaker who focuses on both story and people,” Malka said. “She has a fantastic reputation within the film community, and her expertise will allow us to further develop our slate of scripts and bring our know-how to the Finnish and international market.” Endemol Shine Finland is also the originator of the Finnish versions of Big Brother, Lego Masters and Chef.

Channel 4’s youth portfolio channel E4 will broadcast a Goodbye Brooklyn Nine-Nine special after the American comedy’s beloved eight-season series that ended last September. Cast members including Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Stephanie Beatriz and Joe Lo Truglio will be alongside co-creator/CEO Dan Goor, while famous UK superfans will share their thoughts on their favorite times. E4 aired Brooklyn nine-nine in the UK since its launch in 2013 and the show has become a huge hit in the country, with Netflix also picking up the rights. All3Media-backed label Wise Owl Films is producing the doc.
Big names gear up for Wales’ first screen summit
Ian Katz, Content Director of Channel 4, Rhodri Talfan Davies, Director of BBC Nations, and Sebastian Cardwell, Deputy of Paramount UK, will speak at the inaugural Wales Screen Summit next month. The first event will include talks on freelancers, skills shortages and public service broadcasters, with BBC acting drama director Ben Irving also appearing alongside people like the CEO of independent trade body Pact , John McVay. The event will take place in Cardiff from June 15-16.
‘Forensic’ Trailer: ZEE5 Global Psychological Drama Gets Teaser
South Asian content streamer ZEE5 Global has released a trailer for a psychological thriller Legal, which stars Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte in the lead roles. Directed by Vishal Furia and from Mini Films and Soham Rockstar Entertainment, the film is a remake of the Malayalam film of the same name. Massey has previously appeared in ZEE5 Global’s Love Hostel this year and in the new trailer plays forensic officer Johnny Khanna, who joins investigating officer Megha Sharma (Apt) after discovering the body of a teenage girl. They soon realize that many other girls are missing and their bodies are later found. “Forensic is a tense thriller with twists that will shock viewers, and I truly believe this film will change the way we view crime investigation thrillers,” Massey said. Deepak Mukut, Mansi Bagla and Varun Bagle are the producers.
