Residents of Chorleywood Beaumont Care Home in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire celebrated National Carers Week, which takes place from Monday June 6 to Sunday June 12.
The residents wanted to thank all the staff at the home, whose hard work and dedication make a real difference in the lives of the people in their care.
Carers Week is an annual event aimed at raising awareness of care, highlighting the challenges carers face and recognizing the contribution they make to our residents, families and communities across the UK. The theme for National Carers Week this year is “Making Care Visible, Valued and Supported” – to shine a light on all those who work tirelessly behind the scenes to care for the vulnerable in our communities.
Staff were treated to an afternoon tea with live music in the garden. The chef and his team prepared a wonderful variety of festive dishes for everyone. Family and friends arrived throughout the afternoon to join in the festivities with staff and residents. An awards ceremony was held and prizes were presented by the residents.
Residents also gave thanks by giving handmade cards and handwritten letters to caregivers along with a small thank you gift for all they do.
Ramona Stanciu, Managing Director, said: “It is so wonderful to be able to celebrate National Caregivers Week and to thank our fantastic caregivers with a summer party in our garden, and to be able to welcome the community, relatives and friends. Everyone had a fantastic day.
Chorleywood Beaumont resident Harold Tasker said: “We all had such a great time today, it is truly a joy to be able to thank our wonderful caregivers for all they do, they are truly heaven sent.”
