A local musical theater company is set to transport audiences back to 1920 this summer with its immersive new production.
Belfast Operatic brings its own brand to a bespoke musical production at the newly refurbished Hilton Hotel in Belfast on 7th and 8th May.
Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s book, ‘The Great Gatsby’, the show will invite you to party as history unfolds around you throughout an evening, including a three-course meal.

With a script inspired by the book, writer/director Gary Redpath said: “Immersive theatrical events of this style are hugely popular in London, but don’t often launch here.
“We took all the elements of our usual musical theater productions and took them out of a traditional stage.
“The show will be performed in rounds, which gives the actors the freedom to move the action into the audience as needed, making the audience as much a part of the show as the actors.”
He continued: “We took a classic story and gave it the Baz Luhrmann treatment, using everything from modern pop songs to older classics and everything in between – and of course with that style in mind, the audience is encouraged to dress and be in the mood of the 1920s.”
With songs from the world of pop, film and musical comedy, from Lady Gaga to Nat King Cole and Britney Spears – from Kiss Me Kate to Moulin Rouge, the 40-actor company sings and dances through the Roaring Twenties.
After two years without live events, the company is extremely excited to embark on a new style of event, which promises to entertain and captivate audiences in attendance.
Fresh off their sold-out production of “A Christmas Carol” in November at the Grand Opera House, the award-winning company has been hard at work putting their spin on this immersive new show.
Written specifically for the audience of a renovated Hilton hotel, this unique adaptation of the classic Fitzgerald story is not to be missed.
