Austrian DJ/producer and artist Parov Stelar is back with “Toxic Lover”, another infectious debut single released ahead of his highly anticipated upcoming album “Moonlight Love Affair”, due out later next month. The new original production follows a string of singles, including “Candy Girl” and her Late Night Mix from earlier this year. The prolific stalwart’s latest sonic endeavor sees him reworking The Shangri-Las now famous TikTok track from 1964, “Remember – Walking In The Sand (The Oh No Song)”. Now available via the talent’s own Etage Noir recordings, the newly revamped four-on-the-floor offering is available to stream on all streaming platforms.
The track kicks off immediately with the famous sultry vocals, paired with expertly crafted palpable tension. The buildup rises and quickly unleashes with full force as the bass drops. A series of rolling soundscapes, propulsive ambience, and engrossing intensity characterize the majority of the redesign, in turn marking “Toxic Lover” as a core reimagining that stands apart from its source material in all the best ways. Opting for a more energetic approach, the slower pace of the original is nowhere to be found as the anthemic remix takes the listener on a sonic tour de force. All in all, this marks a pivotal moment for the multi-faceted creative force as he prepares for the eventual release of his next album and accompanying “Venom” European tour.
