Airflow and wide open spaces appeal to this brand new glamping resort in the Catskills

Welcome to AutoCamp, the last oasis in upstate New York.

Nothing says summer like swapping stories over s’mores and a crackling campfire.

Just north of Woodstock, spread across 27 acres of sun-kissed woodlands and vast grasslands in New York’s Catskills, AutoCamp opened their design-yet-retro-chic glamping doors this month, just in time for the summer travel season.

“Some places just seem inevitable to us and Catskills has always been one of them because of the area’s ever-thriving outdoor and cultural scene,” said AutoCamp CEO and Founder Neil Dipaola.

Formerly a Kampground of America (KOA) campground, AutoCamp guests will find a mix of accommodation types that includes a fleet of 65 airstreams, as well as vintage-chic outfitted cabins and luxury tents.

A pool with hot tub is expected to open later this year.

The brand, whose unofficial tagline is “where great design meets the great outdoors,” says much of this resort’s look was inspired by the Hudson Valley farmhouses that abound in the area. region.

At its heart, the Clubhouse will serve as a gathering place for guests and includes an indoor foyer and a modern barn with exposed post and beam interiors in addition to serving as a reception and breakfast room.

Food options at AutoCamp also include a few local businesses from Coffee of the 2 queens, Woodstock Brewery at Neversink General Store which will serve everything from Philly cheese steaks and meatballs to homemade pizzas, salads and barbecue.

Just a ten-minute drive from Woodstock, free bikes and seasonal off-site activities ranging from expert-led outdoor mindfulness and forest bathing to rock and ice climbing and snowshoeing Guided and fly fishing are also offered here for anyone wishing to soak up the local culture. .
